Armenia’s 2009 Eurovision entry - “Jan Jan” by Inga and Anush (or ‘Ink and a bush’ as I took to calling them for a while..) - cropped up in my Banshee (Music player) playlist earlier.
With a memory capcity approaching that of a gnat in a time loop I had to go see where this song came back in Moscow, 2009.
It scored 10th place according to the fountain of trivia that is Wiki.
I can’t help but feel a bit dissapouinted with that. I remember loving the song then and love it just as much now. Bar the Baltic-country amalgamation that is Rybak and the windingly poor execution of La Voix, there was sod all else that year that was as catchy, ethnic or as eurovision as Jan Jan.
